Post by Pete Watson-Wailes

People often say nothing is ever truly lost on the internet. That anything that's put on the web will be here and saved forever.

I'd contend that the internet is now so vast that most of everything that is ever put on it will be lost. Because there's a lot that even now, with Google and YouTube and everything else that helps you search through the archives, is impossible to find even if you wanted to. The things buried 105,327 pages down in a list of items may as well not exist.

And given how big the internet is, that's most of it.

So you can consider this post a grain of sand, tossed onto a beach, immediately lost from view.
